NDLEA, US, UK Agencies Probe ₦338bn Cocaine Seizure At Lagos Port

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) announced on Tuesday that a significant quantity of cocaine was discovered over the weekend in an empty container at the PTML Terminal. Terminal operators promptly alerted the NDLEA and other port security agencies, who jointly examined the consignment. Following laboratory tests, the substance was confirmed to be cocaine, after which it was formally handed over to the NDLEA.

NDLEA Chairman Buba Marwa said the seizure, given its scale, requires the involvement of the Agency’s leading international partners. The United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the United Kingdom’s National Crime Agency (NCA) are now participating in the investigation.

Marwa emphasized that collaborating with international partners is crucial to ensuring no detail is overlooked. “The goal is to track down all those responsible for this massive shipment and bring them to justice, wherever they are located around the world,” he said. The investigation is ongoing.Headline news
