The Ovie of the oil-rich Great Idjerhe Kingdom in Delta State, His Majesty King Obukowho Monday Whiskey, Ph.D, Udurhie I, has urged Niger Deltans to prioritize unity, development, and peaceful coexistence across the region.
The respected monarch, who also serves as the National Chairman of the Host Communities (HOSCON) Traditional Rulers and Elders Advisory Council, commended the impressive strides of Tantita Security Services Limited. He praised the company’s role in environmental protection, boosting crude oil production, and creating thousands of job opportunities for unemployed youths in the Niger Delta.
Speaking on recent smear campaigns against the security outfit, His Majesty expressed disappointment over attempts by certain individuals to discredit the company’s achievements. He alleged that some of these detractors—affected by the shutdown of illegal oil activities—have resorted to blackmail in retaliation.
“Rather than supporting success, some people have chosen the destructive path of pulling others down. It is unfortunate and unpatriotic,” the monarch stated.
King Whiskey called on all well-meaning Niger Deltans to support the expansion of Tantita Security’s operations, noting that its efforts have earned commendations from both the Federal Government and the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) for safeguarding national assets.
He emphasized that constructive engagement and collective efforts are key to realizing the region’s full potential, urging critics to channel their energy toward more productive pursuits.
“Undermining a proven and impactful initiative led by High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo, is counterproductive and harmful to our shared progress,” he said.
Concluding, the monarch reaffirmed that the way forward for the Niger Delta lies in collaboration and support for genuine development efforts.
“Together, we can achieve greater things. But those who choose to bring others down will never be part of the solution,” he declared.
