Nigerian Government Vows Swift Rescue of 25 Kidnapped Schoolgirls in Kebbi

The Nigerian government has pledged urgent action to rescue the 25 schoolgirls abducted from Maga Comprehensive Girls’ Secondary School in Danko Wasagu LGA of Kebbi State.

In a statement issued on Monday, Information Minister Mohammed Idris condemned the attack, describing it as “reprehensible,” and mourned the killing of a school official during the incident. He affirmed that security and intelligence agencies have been given firm directives to locate and safely recover the missing students.

The kidnapping occurred around 4 a.m. on Monday when armed bandits stormed the school. Police authorities confirmed the abduction of 25 students and the death of one staff member.

Idris stressed that the Federal Government remains committed to ensuring the perpetrators are brought to justice and that efforts are already underway to secure the safe return of the girls.
