Nigeria’s Prosperity Inseparable From Future of Northern Nigeria – Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared that Nigeria’s overall prosperity is inseparable from the progress of northern Nigeria, stressing that unlocking the region’s resources will drive the country’s growth.

Speaking through the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, at the 2025 Nigeria Investment and Industrialization Summit (NNIIS) in Abuja—organized by the Northern Elders Forum (NEF)—Tinubu said his administration is prioritizing industrialization projects that directly benefit the North.

The Summit, themed “Unlocking Northern Nigeria’s Mining, Agricultural and Power Potentials (MAP2035),” was described as a 10-year blueprint to reposition the region as a hub of innovation, industrialization, and inclusive growth.

Tinubu noted:

  • Mining: The North holds vast mineral resources including gold, lithium, tin, zinc, limestone, and coal. Reforms are underway to formalize artisanal mining, attract investors, and ensure host communities benefit directly.

  • Agriculture: With 70% of Nigeria’s arable land located in the region, the North is central to food security and export competitiveness. Key projects include the Sokoto–Badagry Highway and irrigation dams to boost agro-industrial corridors.

  • Energy: The nearly completed Ajaokuta–Kaduna–Kano (AKK) pipeline will deliver natural gas for power and industrial use across the region. Alongside the government’s Mission 300 project, worth about $32 billion in energy and industrial investments, it is expected to power industries in Kaduna, Sokoto, Bauchi, Kano, and Zamfara.

The president highlighted recent economic progress, including GDP growth of 4.23% in Q2 2025—the strongest in a decade—alongside easing inflation, rising reserves, and a stabilizing Naira. He credited these to deliberate policies under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Governors Call for Action
Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, urged regional leaders to move beyond rhetoric, stressing that insecurity must be addressed to attract investors. He proposed a “One-North Investment Policy” with harmonized regulations, a unified security framework, and joint infrastructure projects in power, rail, and digital connectivity.

“A safe North is a bankable North,” Lawal said, emphasizing that investors would only commit where security and policies are predictable.

Elders Emphasize Infrastructure
NEF Chairman, Prof. Ango Abdullahi—represented by Air Marshal Al’amin Daggash (Rtd)—underscored that the summit was not ceremonial but a rallying call for prosperity. He noted that while the North has always been the “engine room” of Nigeria’s economy, lack of infrastructure continues to limit its potential.

He called for deliberate investment in mining value chains, transport, and storage, as well as fairer access to credit for northern entrepreneurs, who often struggle to secure financing due to collateral requirements tied to properties in Lagos or Port Harcourt.

“If the North rises, Nigeria rises. If Nigeria rises, Africa rises,” Abdullahi stated, urging unity and determination to ensure the region’s transformation over the next decade.

Prayer for Nigeria at 65

Heavenly Father, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob,
We lift up Nigeria to You as she marks 65 years of independence. Thank You for sustaining this nation through storms, trials, and challenges. Lord, we believe that You who began a good work will perfect it in our land.

Father, grant Nigerians the understanding, patience, and peace of mind to endure these times of reform. Let Your Spirit strengthen every citizen, so that hardship will not break us, but rather prepare us for the better days ahead.

Lord, bless our leaders with wisdom, discernment, and compassion. Inspire them to listen to the cries of the people and to take the right actions that bring relief and hope.

We pray especially for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu: may You grant him wisdom, courage, good health, and long life. Guide his hands to lay a foundation of justice, prosperity, and unity that will outlive him and bless generations to come. May he lead Nigeria to greatness and also enjoy the fruits of his labor in peace.

Father, shield this nation from insecurity. Stretch forth Your mighty hand to frustrate the devices of those who seek to destroy. Grant our leaders divine direction and strategy to resolve insecurity once and for all, so that Nigeria may flourish in peace.

Lord, we also commit the forthcoming elections into Your hands. As it is written in 1 Samuel 2:7–8: “The LORD makes poor and makes rich; He brings low and lifts up. He raises up the poor out of the dust… and makes them sit with princes.” And again in Psalm 75:6–7: “For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: He putteth down one, and setteth up another.”

We know, Lord, that many will vie for leadership in 2027, but only Your anointed will succeed. We pray that President Tinubu will be strengthened and favored to return in 2027, so he may have the full opportunity to complete his reforms and reveal their benefits to Nigerians with visible results.

Father, let Your perfect will be done over Nigeria. Let this nation rise in unity, prosperity, and peace. May Your name be glorified in our testimony as a people.

In Jesus’ mighty name we pray, Amen.

Du’a for Nigeria at 65

Bismillāhir-Raḥmānir-Raḥīm

Allāhumma, we thank You for sustaining Nigeria for 65 years since independence. You are the One who grants power, honor, and peace. Ya Allāh, continue to protect this nation, guide its people, and strengthen our unity.

Grant Nigerians ṣabr (patience), sakīnah (tranquility), and ḥikmah (wisdom) to endure the trials of reforms until relief comes. Let hardship prepare us for a brighter future and not break our spirit.

Ya Allāh, bless our leaders with ʿilm (knowledge), basīrah (insight), and raḥmah (compassion) to act justly and address the cries of the people. Allow Nigerians to see and understand the positive and visible impact of all the efforts made by President Tinubu for the nation.

We pray especially for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu: grant him ḥikmah, shajāʿah (courage), ṣihḥah (good health), and ṭūl al-ʿumr (long life). Allow him to complete his vision for Nigeria, establish justice and prosperity, and leave a lasting legacy of unity.

Ya Allāh, reduce the tough conditions of the reforms in the lives of Nigerians, for they are necessary but heavy to bear. Make the path easier and lighten the burden, Āmīn.

Ya Allāh, we also pray for all our leaders in Nigeria’s democratic structure — the President, Vice President, members of the Executive, Legislature, and Judiciary, State Governors, Local Government Chairmen, and Councillors. Guide them in truth, grant them sincerity, and deliver them from temptation. Keep them firm on the path of justice and service to the people.

Protect Nigeria from insecurity. Frustrate the plans of those who seek to divide or destroy us. Grant our leaders ilhām (inspiration) and clear strategies to resolve insecurity once and for all.

Ya Allāh, we also commit the forthcoming elections into Your hands. You have said in the Qur’an:

“Tu’til-mulka man tashāʾu, wa tanziʿul-mulka mimman tashāʾu, wa tuʿizzu man tashāʾu, wa tudhillu man tashāʾu. Biyadikal-khayr, innaka ʿalā kulli shayʾin qadīr.”

(“You give sovereignty to whom You will, and You take sovereignty away from whom You will. You honor whom You will, and You humble whom You will. In Your hand is all good. Indeed, You are over all things competent.” — Āl ʿImrān 3:26)

We know, O Lord, that many will contest in 2027, but only the one You decree will succeed. We ask You to strengthen and favor President Tinubu to return, so he may complete his reforms and reveal their benefits to Nigerians, in shā’ Allāh.

Ya Allāh, let Your perfect will be done. Make Nigeria a land of unity, prosperity, and peace. Let our success be a testimony of Your mercy, and may Your name be glorified through us.

Nigeria @ 65 Du’a

Bismillāh. Ya Allāh, thank You for 65 years of Nigeria.
Grant peace, patience & strength to our people.
Bless President Tinubu with wisdom, health & long life.
Guide all leaders in truth & protect them from temptation.
Ease the hardship of reforms & let Nigerians see the benefits.
“Tu’til-mulka man tashāʾu…” (Āl ʿImrān 3:26) — Sovereignty is Yours; may Your anointed prevail in 2027.

Āmīn, yā Rabbal-ʿĀlamīn.
