#NNS Beecroft Storms Criminal Hideout in Ajegunle, Arrests 27 Suspected Drug Peddlers

The Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) BEECROFT has successfully raided a notorious criminal hideout in the Gidan Drama area of Malu Road, Apapa, Lagos, arresting 27 suspected drug peddlers and seizing illicit substances during the operation.

The raid, which took place on Saturday, April 5, 2025, was carried out by personnel of NNS BEECROFT under Operation MESA, following credible intelligence about illegal drug activities in the area.

According to a statement released by Lieutenant Hussaini Ibrahim, the Base Information Officer of NNS BEECROFT, the operation led to the arrest of 24 male and 3 female suspects, found in possession of hard drugs and other illicit substances.

Representing the Commander of NNS BEECROFT, Commodore Paul Ponfa Nimmyel, the Executive Officer Captain Idongesit Udoessien emphasized that the raid reinforces the Navy’s commitment to tackling drug abuse and criminality, particularly among the youth.

“The successful arrest of these suspects and the seizure of illicit substances highlight NNS BEECROFT’s unwavering commitment to combating the spread and abuse of drugs, which pose a grave threat to youth development and national security,” the statement added.

All suspects and recovered exhibits have been handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for further investigation and prosecution.
