Not all Rivers people grateful to Tinubu – Annkio Briggs

Human rights activist Annkio Briggs has said that not all Rivers State residents share the gratitude expressed by Governor Siminalayi Fubara towards President Bola Tinubu.

Speaking on Sunday Politics, a Channels Television programme, Briggs reacted to the suspension of the six-month state of emergency earlier imposed on Rivers.

When asked if she was as thankful to the president as Governor Fubara, she replied:

“Definitely not. I think the president himself will be aware that not everybody in Rivers State will be eternally grateful to him.”

Briggs, who described herself as a stakeholder and elder in the state, also criticised the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for failing to intervene early in the crisis.

“As a stakeholder and elder, I feel very let down by the PDP because since 1999 we have voted for the party. If they had stepped in and done what they should have done right from the beginning, the PDP would not find itself where it is today,” she said.
