Senator Ned Nwoko and his estranged wife, actress Regina Daniels, have traded accusations as their marital crisis deepens, involving claims of drug use, harassment, and abuse.
Nwoko alleged that Regina’s brother, Sammy, repeatedly harassed his children and staff, despite receiving his financial support, including ₦125 million in transfers to Regina’s mother. He further claimed Sammy introduced Regina to drugs and disrupted her rehabilitation.
The senator said he involved law enforcement after Sammy allegedly caused a scene at his home and insisted that the young man “needs rehabilitation, not sympathy.” He denied assaulting anyone, describing circulating videos as “staged.”
Responding via Instagram, Regina admitted past drug use but accused Nwoko of manipulation and abuse. She alleged that he encouraged her drug habit, confined her, and forced doctors to sedate her during disagreements. “You lock me up and seize my phones because you hate that I talk to my family,” she wrote.
The actress also stated that there was no legal marriage between them, saying, “Marriage is not by force. Love is not by force.”
The dispute follows the arrest of Sammy, who was transferred from Lagos to Abuja and later arraigned in court. Amid the controversy, Regina shared emotional videos expressing fear for her brother’s safety, while fans and colleagues urged both sides to de-escalate the conflict.
