#Oborevwori appoints ex- Nigerian medical association president as head of service.

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has approved the appointment of Dr. (Mrs.) Mininim Oseji as the new Head of Service (HoS) for Delta State.

Dr. Oseji, a seasoned public health expert and former National President of the Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria (MWAN), takes over from Mr. Reginald Bayoko, who is set to retire after serving as Head of Service for nine years.

The appointment was formally announced on Monday via a statement signed by the Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu.

Prior to her elevation, Dr. Oseji served as Permanent Secretary in the Delta State Ministry of Environment. A Consultant Public Health and Community Physician, she brings decades of experience in public service, healthcare, and development to her new role.

“Dr. Mininim Oseji is the Medical Director of Berachah Community Clinic, Asaba, and a part-time Consultant with the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba. She also serves as Executive Director of the Public Health Impact Research Centre, a research-focused NGO she founded in 2002,” the statement read.

A globally recognized advocate for women’s health and empowerment, Dr. Oseji is a long-standing member of the Medical Women’s International Association (MWIA), where she chairs the Violence Against Women and Girls Special Interest Group. She is also a member of the International AIDS Society (IAS) and has served as a peer reviewer for the Journal of the Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria (J-MWAN).

Beyond her medical and administrative career, she is actively involved in faith-based outreach, serving on the Hospital Visitation Team of the Christian Women Fellowship International under Church of God Mission International.

Dr. Oseji is expected to be officially sworn in on Monday, March 31, 2025, in Asaba, the Delta State capital.
