The Ogun State Government has announced that Gateway International Airport, Iperu-Ilishan, will begin full flight operations on October 7, 2025, with ValueJet, a leading Nigerian aviation company.
The initial schedule includes direct commercial flights between Ogun and Abuja, operating on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Flights will depart Gateway International Airport (GWI) at 8:30 a.m. and return from Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA), Abuja, at 4:00 p.m.
Tickets for these flights went on sale September 25, 2025, and are available through online platforms, accredited travel agents, and airport ticket desks.
This launch marks a significant milestone in Ogun State’s ambition to become a key hub for aviation, commerce, and industrial growth in Nigeria. The airport is expected to enhance connectivity, drive economic activity, attract investment, and facilitate seamless travel for business and leisure.
