The accusations were made public on Monday in Osogbo by Engr. Oluremi Omowaiye, Head of Media and Publicity for the APC Governorship Campaign Council.

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has launched a scathing critique of the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke, citing a failure to translate revenue inflows into development, particularly in the critical agricultural sector.
The accusations were made public on Monday in Osogbo by Engr. Oluremi Omowaiye, Head of Media and Publicity for the APC Governorship Campaign Council.
He claimed that the Adeleke-led government squandered over N1 trillion in less than three years in office.
According to Omowaiye, despite what he described as “unprecedented revenue inflow” into the state’s coffers, there has been little evidence of impactful infrastructure, social investment, or economic transformation across Osun State.
Omowaiye alleged that the administration’s spending priorities have been skewed toward non-essential activities, citing what he described as an alarming N92 billion expenditure on “wining and dining.”

He argued that such spending reflects a broader pattern of misplaced priorities, especially at a time when the state faces pressing developmental challenges in agriculture, education, healthcare, and infrastructure.
“A government that commits such enormous resources to frivolities while neglecting productive sectors like agriculture is not only irresponsible but also insensitive to the needs of its people,” Omowaiye said.
He further accused the administration of concealing vital financial information from the public, particularly the reported N57.6 billion debt cancellation granted to the state by the Federal Government.
“The people of Ọsun deserve transparency. It is unacceptable that such a huge financial relief is being hidden from public scrutiny by a government that claims to be accountable,” he stated.
Omowaiye claimed that the governorship candidate of the APC, Bola Oyebamiji, represents a clear alternative with a vision anchored on responsible governance.

According to him, an Oyebamiji administration will focus on critical sectors such as agriculture, education, health, transportation and power generation.
He explained that with the recent decentralisation of electricity generation and distribution by the National Assembly, state governments now have the constitutional backing to generate and improve electricity supply within their domains.
“This is a major opportunity that Oyebamiji will leverage to transform Ọsun’s power sector, stimulate industrial growth and improve the quality of life of our people,” he said.
Omowaiye further revealed that the APC candidate plans to reintroduce the car loan scheme for civil servants and revive the food support programme, both of which were discontinued by the current administration upon assumption of office.
He added that Oyebamiji would prioritise housing development for workers and promote mortgage schemes to make home ownership accessible to citizens.
In the same statement, Omowaiye also set the record straight on several issues deliberately misrepresented by government sympathisers.
He clarified that the half-salary regime in Ọsun did not begin under Oyebamiji as Commissioner of Finance, explaining that the policy started in June 2015, while Oyebamiji assumed office in May 2017—two years after its introduction.

He added that within few months of appointment of Oyetola, he ensured the half-salary regime ended in Osun and full payment was activated for all workers.
On the issue of alleged payroll fraud, Omowaiye explained that the audit conducted by Sally Tibbot Consulting was commissioned by the Adeleke administration in 2023, not 2022 as falsely claimed, stressing that the findings relate to the current government, not the previous one.
He also corrected misinformation regarding the establishment of the University of Ilesa (UNILESA), stating that it was conceived and fully established by the Oyetola administration, which ensured its inclusion in the JAMB portal and completed all necessary groundwork before the exit of the APC government.
Omowaiye further debunked claims that local government allocations were being withheld by the Federal Government, clarifying that the funds are being released to duly elected local government chairmen.
On security, he challenged the notion that it is solely the responsibility of the Federal Government, noting that state and local governments also play crucial roles. He questioned why the Adeleke administration has accessed N15billion in security votes if it claims to have no responsibility in that regard.
He urged the Osun State government to come clean on the alleged N57.6billion debt relief and called on members of the media to uphold professionalism by reporting facts rather than amplifying propaganda.
