Physically Challenged Shoemaker Arrested for Impersonating Woman in Online Scam.

Timilehin Oyedele Godwin, a well-known physically challenged shoemaker, has been arrested for allegedly impersonating a woman to scam men online. Known as Timi, he rose to fame in 2023 after sharing his search for a wife on social media.

The scandal unfolded when Instagram user Oluwadamilola Oluwasheteminire accused Timi of stealing her identity and using her photos to deceive men. Investigations revealed that since 2022, Timi allegedly created fake profiles on TikTok, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram using Damilola’s images. He reportedly posed as her, sending downloaded nude photos to convince victims of the ruse.

In a video confession, Timi admitted to the fraud, stating, “On September 23, 2025, I made a video about catfishing and creating replica accounts of Oluwadamilola Oluwasheteminire on Instagram and Facebook. I used her pictures to create accounts like Damilolag279 on TikTok and Adebola Gloria on Facebook, and used WhatsApp number 07081811101 to catfish, exchanging nudes that were Google-generated, not hers. I’m deeply sorry for my actions and for misleading everyone.”

Timi initially downplayed the accusations, claiming he only wanted to “redeem” the victim’s image. However, after being questioned, he issued a public apology to Oluwadamilola, her friends, and family.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage online, with many expressing disappointment in Timi, once viewed as a role model. Social media reaction includes:

– OloriSiji1: “I’m so disappointed 😔💔. I’ve patronized him before, but this is shocking.”

– @AimThaMachine_: “Oluwadamilola provided clear evidence. This is serial behavior. Why isn’t he in prison? Does Nigeria’s justice system overlook this?”

– @mr_oladele_: “This keeps getting worse. I hoped for mercy, but he needs serious mental support to grow.”

Timi has been rearrested and forced to record a public apology as investigations into his online activities continue.
