#Plateau community Reveals Identities of 18 Persons Killed In Midnight Attack

The Irigwe ethnic Nationality of Plateau state under the aegies of Irigwe Development Association has released the names of 18 persons who were killed by gummen when they invaded Ancha community in the Bassa Local Government Area of the state in the early hours of Wednesday, according to confirmed reports..

The Statement issued on Wednesday night by the National Publicity Secretary of the association, Davidson Malison, made available to Headlinenews, noted that among those killed by the gummen was a three-month old baby identified as Monday Bitrus which he said “justified an act of inhumanity to man.”

Malison listed other deceased persons as Gideon Goh,30 years;Danladi James,26 years;Yohanna Musa, 17 years; Achi Alhaji,16 years;Monday Abba, 52 years; Musa Tegwi,80 years; Christiana Sunday, 45; Laraba Bitrus, 38; Andrew Bitrus, 7; Wiki Bitrus, 5 ;Danjuma Rimbe, 10; Monday B Bitrus ,19 ; Moses Weyi ,21 ; Mbe Weyi,21; Azumi Wreh; Danladi David Musa ,28; and Garius Gado Sunday.

According to the statement, the “undistracted” attack which lasted for over two hours between 12:00 am and 2:30 am also left six other natives injured while over 24 households with over 100 residential rooms.

Several motor vehicles ,motorcycles, harvested crops were among other valuables either destroyed or carted away by the invaders.

The statement said, “While it is undisputed that the level of attacks meted on the land has further compounded the challenges plaguing the Rigwe Nation,it is worth noting that it has also added to numerous death lists the nation has experienced for over two decades.

The Youth group noted that they have called on security agents and the Government on several occasions to find a means to end the killings and attacks.

“Again, the perpetrators are not invisible and untouchable or ghosts, but the same people that have been fingered to be behind this dastardly act therefore,” the group said.

The statement added, “If rule of law is to be strictly adhered, then the perpetrators must be brought out instantaneously and be subjected to face the full wrath of law.

“The National Leadership also with a loud voice call on the security agents to deploy more personnel to the affected place and other flashpoints to block any chance of another attempt to infiltrate the community.

“The National leadership deeply condoles with the entire Nation, especially the directly affected persons and prays that God should repose the departed souls and heal the injured persons.

“The Leadership also enjoins the Rigwe people to continue to be law abiding and peaceful people as we are known for, and imbibe the spirit of vigilance and consciousness in order to forestall further occurrence”.
