Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has praised the graduation of 531 newly trained police constables from the Police Training School in Jos, calling their deployment a critical step in addressing the state’s security challenges. Speaking through Hamisu Hanani, Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Plateau and Wase Local Government, at the passing-out parade on Tuesday, Mutfwang said the new officers would enhance the state’s security framework by increasing police manpower and improving responses to crime and unrest.
The governor highlighted the complex security issues facing Plateau and Nigeria, noting that the well-trained constables would help restore peace and protect lives and property. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies through collaboration, logistics, and community partnerships, emphasizing that peace is essential for development and good governance.
Mutfwang commended Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun and the Police Training School for their professionalism in producing disciplined officers suited for modern policing.
He urged the recruits to uphold discipline, honor, and patriotism, assuring them of the state government’s ongoing support. The ceremony, attended by government officials, security chiefs, traditional rulers, and families, featured impressive parade displays and drills.
