The Office of the Special Assistant to the President on Art, Culture, and Creative Economy has awarded Titobiloluwa Oreolorun the Award for Distinguished Leadership in Creative Innovation for Environmental Sustainability, recognizing his significant contributions to the creative and circular economy sectors and electronic waste recovery.

Oreolorun, Founder and Executive Director of JustUsedTech, was celebrated for developing a circular economy model that combines electronic waste recovery, refurbishment, and technology redistribution to expand digital access while reducing environmental waste. The initiative operates across the United States and West Africa, introducing structured systems for urban mining, advanced refurbishment, and lifecycle extension to preserve high-value electronic components and provide functional devices to underserved communities.

Unlike traditional disposal-focused waste management, Oreolorun’s model creates a closed-loop system that aligns environmental sustainability with economic inclusion. His work has been instrumental in bridging gaps in digital access while reducing e-waste exposure, earning recognition for its innovation in sustainability, resource optimization, and inclusive economic development.

In partnership with the Office, Oreolorun has also led the Skill Sync Initiative, a nationwide program equipping Nigerian students and young creatives with the tools and technology needed to enhance productivity, creativity, and competitiveness in the global economy. The initiative has improved digital skills development, entrepreneurial capacity, and access to functional devices for beneficiaries, strengthening Nigeria’s broader innovation ecosystem.

The Office highlighted that Oreolorun’s contributions through both JustUsedTech and Skill Sync reflect national-scale impact, supporting priorities under the Renewed Hope Agenda, including youth empowerment, sustainable development, and expansion of the digital and creative economy. His efforts demonstrate how circular economy systems can drive both ecological responsibility and national development.

The award recognizes individuals whose work demonstrates exceptional leadership, measurable societal impact, and alignment with strategic national objectives. Oreolorun’s innovative approach to e-waste management and digital inclusion has gained attention across academic, industry, and policy circles, serving as a scalable model for sustainable production and resource optimization.
As global demand grows for solutions that combine technological growth with environmental responsibility, initiatives like JustUsedTech are increasingly seen as critical. Oreolorun’s continued leadership is expected to influence how governments, institutions, and private sector actors implement circular economy practices and maximize long-term resource efficiency.
