PRESIDENT’S ECONOMIC REFORMS DEVELOPING NASARAWA, SAYS SULE

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic reforms, saying they have been key to the progress and development seen in the state.

Speaking to reporters in Lafia, the state capital, Sule said the reforms have provided a strong foundation for economic growth both in Nasarawa and across Nigeria.

“Without the President’s reforms, much of the development we are witnessing today, particularly here in Nasarawa State, would not have been possible. These reforms have sparked the economic momentum we are now enjoying,” he stated.

The governor added that the positive outcomes across multiple sectors are clear evidence that the reforms are bearing fruit and paving the way for further advancement.

Sule also highlighted his administration’s vision to industrialise the state, noting the importance of identifying areas of competitive advantage.

“Our industrialisation strategy focuses on mining, which earns us the title ‘State of Solid Minerals,’ and agriculture, where we have made significant investments,” he explained.

He emphasised the need for a skilled workforce, pointing to the state’s investment in vocational and technical education.

“That’s why we have strengthened technical education, with schools recognised by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE). Our technical college in Lafia now serves as a national model for training, helping create employment, empower youth, and prepare them for industry,” Sule said.

The governor also cited proximity to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and sustained peace in Nasarawa as key factors attracting investors.

“Our closeness to the FCT gives us a huge advantage, and the peace we have maintained in Nasarawa is another critical factor drawing major investors,” he added.

On concerns about political defections and the possibility of Nigeria moving toward a one-party system, Sule dismissed such fears.

“A one-party system is not healthy for democracy, and I do not believe any party, including the APC, is pursuing that goal,” he said.

The governor reassured residents that he remains committed to serving the people of Nasarawa State.

“It is the people of Nasarawa who elected me governor. If they assign me to any other position and I believe I can perform effectively, I will serve,” Sule concluded.
