Prince Harry breaks silence on reunion with King Charles in 5 words

Prince Harry has spoken publicly for the first time about his meeting with King Charles, raising hopes of a long-awaited reconciliation between father and son.

The Duke of Sussex spent nearly an hour at Clarence House in London on Wednesday — their first face-to-face meeting in over 18 months — before heading to a reception for the Invictus Games, which he founded in 2014.

When asked about his father upon arrival at The Gherkin for the event, Harry gave a brief five-word response: “Yes, he’s great, thank you.”

The Duke appeared relaxed and upbeat as he mingled with sponsors and government ministers ahead of delivering a speech outlining the next decade of the Invictus movement.

Harry’s meeting with the King, who is undergoing cancer treatment, lasted just 54 minutes. He arrived at Clarence House at 5:20 p.m. in a black Range Rover and departed at 6:14 p.m. before making his way to the London reception, where heavy traffic delayed his arrival.

The reunion comes months after Harry told BBC America he hoped for reconciliation with his family. The King had travelled from Balmoral for engagements in London, coinciding with the final days of Harry’s four-day UK visit.

Harry remains estranged from his brother, Prince William, who spent the day in Cardiff opening a mental health hub as part of World Suicide Prevention Day.

Since stepping down from royal duties in 2020, Harry and Meghan have made multiple criticisms of the royal family through interviews, a Netflix documentary, and his memoir Spare. However, recent behind-the-scenes efforts — including senior aides from both households meeting in July — have suggested tentative steps toward repairing relations.
