Prince Harry Reunites with King Charles at Clarence House in Key Step Toward Royal Reconciliation.

Prince Harry met with King Charles at Clarence House, the King’s London residence, for nearly an hour on Wednesday evening, marking their first face-to-face meeting in over 19 months. The Duke of Sussex arrived at 5:20pm after an engagement at Imperial College London and left around 6:15pm to attend an Invictus Games event, the tournament for injured service personnel and veterans he founded in 2014.

Buckingham Palace confirmed the King and Harry shared a “private tea,” though aides provided no further details. The King, who arrived at Clarence House at 3:45pm after traveling from Balmoral via RAF Northolt, had earlier invested Holocaust survivor Manfred Goldberg, 94, with an MBE.

This meeting, the first since Harry’s visit in February 2024 following the King’s cancer diagnosis, comes amid the Duke’s four-day UK trip. Their last encounter was seen as a hopeful sign for mending royal ties, but tensions persisted due to Harry’s legal battle with the Home Office over UK security provisions, which ended with his appeal loss in May. In a subsequent interview, Harry expressed a desire for reconciliation, noting, “I would love a reconciliation with my family. I don’t know how much longer my father has.”

With this brief but significant meeting, father and son have taken a step toward improving royal relations. Harry has one final engagement in the UK tomorrow before returning to the United States.
