Real football at the Bernabéu as Barcelona fall to Mbappe and Jude’s Clás

Real Madrid edged Barcelona 2-1 in a thrilling El Clásico at the Santiago Bernabéu, extending their LaLiga lead to five points and reinforcing their title credentials.

Fresh off a four-match winning run, Los Blancos started fast. Vinícius Júnior was brought down early in the box, but VAR overturned the penalty, and Kylian Mbappé’s strike was ruled offside moments later. The pressure finally told in the 22nd minute when Jude Bellingham weaved through midfield and set up Mbappé, who coolly finished for his 12th goal in nine games against Barça.

Barcelona equalised soon after through Fermín López, pouncing on Arda Güler’s error. However, Real regained control within minutes — Vinícius sprinted down the flank and crossed for Éder Militão to tee up Bellingham, who smashed home from close range.

Mbappé missed a second-half penalty, and Bellingham saw another goal disallowed, but Real held firm as Barcelona’s late push faltered. Jules Koundé’s poor touch wasted their best chance before Pedri’s red card ended their hopes.

The defeat leaves Barcelona five points behind Madrid after ten matches, having fallen behind first in half of their recent league games.
