The Rivers State Police Command has apprehended two suspected kidnappers, Ifeanyi Chukwu Alozie and Miracle Nwimene, both 25, in their hideout in Egwi, Etche Local Government Area. The duo allegedly lured a 24-year-old woman through a dating site, abducted her on September 21, 2025, in Igbo Etche, and collected a ₦200,000 ransom from her family before her release.
Following actionable intelligence, operatives from the Special Operations and Intelligence Team arrested the suspects on September 22, 2025, at 10:00 PM. During interrogation, both confessed to the crime. The victim has been debriefed and reunited with her family, while the investigation continues to apprehend other suspects.
Commissioner of Police Olugbenga Adepoju praised the operatives’ bravery and reiterated the command’s commitment to public safety. He urged citizens to exercise caution with online dating platforms due to potential risks.
