A heartwarming video has gone viral showing the newly appointed Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, sharing a kiss with his wife in front of President Bola Tinubu during his official decoration ceremony.
In the clip, President Tinubu was seen decorating Air Marshal Aneke, who afterward saluted the president before turning to his wife, Mrs. Ngozi Enderline Aneke. In a surprising but affectionate gesture, he saluted her too — then kissed her on the lips, drawing cheers and laughter from the crowd.
President Tinubu reacted with a calm smile as those present applauded and laughed at the romantic display.
The video, which has been widely shared on social media, captured the lighthearted side of the usually formal military event. Many Nigerians have described it as a “sweet and human moment” amid the rigour of military life.
Air Marshal Aneke, who hails from Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State, was born in Makurdi, Benue State, to a military family. He began his education at Army Children School, New Cantonment ‘A’ (1976–1982) and attended Government College, Kaduna (1982–1987) before proceeding to the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) as part of the 40th Regular Combatant Course. He was commissioned into the Nigerian Air Force as a Pilot Officer on September 10, 1993.
Throughout his over 30-year career, Aneke has been recognized for excellence, discipline, and dedication to duty.
He and his wife, Ngozi, are blessed with three sons — Chukwuebuka Kelvin, Ifeanyichukwu Brian, and Uchechukwu Jason.
The affectionate moment between the couple has sparked lively reactions online, with many praising the Air Chief for expressing love openly while others called it “unusual but refreshing” in a military setting.
