A horrifying case has emerged from Kwara State, Nigeria, where Dr. Abbas Adio Adeyemi Adebowale, a trained consultant orthopedic surgeon and former Chief Medical Director of Kaiama General Hospital, stands accused of being a serial killer.
Originally from Offa in Kwara State, Dr. Abbas allegedly murdered over 500 patients during his tenure, with some of the victims reportedly buried within the premises of his office. In addition to taking lives, he is accused of stealing and selling his victims’ vehicles.
Disturbingly, reports also claim he was involved in organ harvesting, allegedly selling human organs to religious and traditional practitioners, including Muslim clerics (referred to as alfas) and babalawos—traditional spiritualists commonly found across Yorubaland.
Among the victims was his girlfriend, Nofisat Halidu, whom he is alleged to have murdered and buried in his office. Two of his colleagues were also reportedly killed under similar circumstances.
The case has sent shockwaves across the country, prompting widespread calls for justice and a thorough investigation into how such atrocities went undetected for so long.
