The Nigerian side took an early lead in the 7th minute after Simon finished off a well-worked move assisted by Samuel Chukwueze. The advantage was extended in the 52nd minute when Akor Adams found the back of the net, following a setup from Ademola Lookman.

Iran responded in the 67th minute through Mehdi Taremi, but Nigeria maintained control to see out the match and claim the win.

The game served as part of the team’s build-up to upcoming fixtures, giving head coach Eric Chelle a chance to assess players and fine-tune tactics ahead of more competitive engagements.

Up next, the Super Eagles are set to face Jordan in another friendly on March 31 at Mardan Stadium in Antalya, Turkey. The match is part of a four-nation tournament aimed at helping teams stay competitive and rebuild their squads.

Although Nigeria will not feature in the upcoming World Cup, these friendly matches are seen as important for improving team cohesion and sustaining form. Supporters remain encouraged by the team’s attacking display as they continue to develop for future competitions.
