A smart and enterprising Nigerian female corps member has gone viral online after sharing how she started a thriving Okrika (thrift clothing) business with her N77k allawee from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
Recall that the Federal Government of Nigeria approved an increase in the NYSC monthly allowance to N77k, which was first disbursed in March 2025. The corper decided to invest her very first allowance into starting a clothing business.
The lady, identified as Anita Olma, excitedly announced her new business via her TikTok page while asking Nigerians to patronize her okirika business.
The video, which has garnered thousands of views and reactions, shows her unboxing the Okrika bale, sorting out the clothes, and sharing the steps she took from buying and washing the clothes for her potential customers.
She captioned it: “POV: You decided to stop procrastinating and decided to start small with your N77k allawee. Way Maker, pls make a way for me. I have decided to start. Pls support my brand, we are launching tomorrow.”
