SOKOTO APC DISMISSES ADC THREAT, PREDICTS LANDSLIDE VICTORY IN 2027

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto State has dismissed the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a recycled political alliance with little capacity to challenge the ruling party’s dominance in the state.

APC officials insisted that no matter the platform the ADC operates under, it cannot wrest power from the party in Sokoto, warning that the coalition is poised for a decisive defeat in future elections.

The statement came from Sokoto APC Chairman, Isah Sadik Achida, during an inclusive stakeholders’ meeting held on Thursday in Tambuwal Local Government Area. The session was organized by the Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto Youths Contact, Mobilisation and Enlightenment Ambassadors to strengthen the party’s Renewed Hope Agenda ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Achida criticized the ADC’s members as well-known politicians who have failed to deliver meaningful results in the state, describing them as figures whose political relevance has already diminished.

“The people regrouping under ADC failed to deliver after eight years. They have nothing new to offer but further harm to the state,” he said, adding that APC remains united, resilient, and firmly positioned to retain power.

He urged Sokoto residents to judge for themselves, highlighting the achievements of Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, who, according to him, has outperformed his predecessor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, even in his home local government.

“The current APC administration has prioritized infrastructure and other essential facilities for the benefit of residents, guided by the visionary leadership of Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko,” Achida said. He called on members and stakeholders to remain committed and united to ensure APC’s continued success.

Chief of Staff to the Governor, Aminu Dikko Tambuwal, speaking on behalf of Alhaji Umaru Nagwari Tambuwal, noted that Tambuwal town has benefited across multiple sectors under the APC government. He praised the youth and women wings of the party for their dedication, emphasizing their role in sustaining unity and the party’s achievements.

Tambuwal highlighted Senator Wamakko’s inclusive leadership as a unifying force that helped strengthen Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto’s administration and reposition Sokoto State. “Residents of Tambuwal have every reason to appreciate the governor’s commitment to local development—a clear contrast to past leadership that left little tangible impact,” he said.

He further cited empowerment programs and development initiatives that have enabled many residents to achieve self-reliance through various trades.

Meanwhile, the APC’s Renewed Hope Agenda continues to expand across Sokoto State, with local government coordinators driving its implementation, particularly following the defection of several opposition Peoples Democratic Party leaders and members from Tambuwal wards to the ruling party.
