‘Soname Will Feel Me’: Leaked Audio Alleges K1 De Ultimate Threatened ValueJet Owner Over Abuja Airport Incident

A leaked audio recording has surfaced online, allegedly capturing Fuji music icon, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate or KWAM 1, issuing threats to Kunle Soname, owner of ValueJet and Bet9ja, over what he described as a “national embarrassment” during a recent airport altercation.

The recording emerged only days after KWAM 1 was involved in a high-profile confrontation with ValueJet airline staff at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

In the viral clip, the Fuji legend is heard narrating his version of events, claiming he was unfairly prevented from boarding a ValueJet flight because airline officials stopped him from carrying a flask of water into the cabin. According to him, the water was medically prescribed and needed to be taken “every few moments” due to a health condition.

“I am a patient. I needed this water every second,” he emphasised.

KWAM 1 admitted to dousing a ValueJet employee with the flask’s contents but insisted it was only water, not alcohol as speculated. He described the incident as humiliating, asserting that he had neither bypassed security protocols nor violated boarding procedures.

“How can you embarrass me? We’ll make this a national issue if that’s what you want. My name is Wasiu Ayinde. Nobody does that with me and gets away with it. Nobody. I didn’t jump the queue, I didn’t do anything wrong. Then I was told: ‘you can’t go on my flight.’ I don’t want to ever go on that flight again in my life — but Soname will feel it. He will feel me in his business,” KWAM 1 declared in the leaked audio.

Background to the Incident

The dispute occurred on August 5 when a ValueJet flight attendant suspected that KWAM 1’s flask contained alcohol — a prohibited item on Nigerian flights. The musician insisted the flask contained only medically necessary water from the airport lounge, but the situation escalated. Witnesses alleged he splashed the contents on a crew member, after which he was denied boarding.

The following day, a video showing KWAM 1 attempting to stop a ValueJet plane from taking off went viral on social media.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) later claimed the flask did, in fact, contain alcohol, a stance echoed by preliminary reports from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA). The NCAA subsequently suspended two pilots over the handling of the matter and blacklisted KWAM 1 from flying with the airline.

In response, the Fuji star maintained that the incident was “blown out of proportion,” reiterating that the flask contained nothing more than water. He later issued a public apology, vowing to conduct himself as a “good ambassador” for Nigeria going forward.

Despite the apology, the leaked audio has reignited public debate over the incident, casting renewed attention on the strained relations between the veteran musician and ValueJet’s management.
