Lagos State Police Commissioner Olohundare Jimoh has warned activist Omoyele Sowore and his supporters to abandon plans for protests over recent demolitions or face legal consequences.
Addressing journalists at the Iyana-Oworo section of the Third Mainland Bridge, Jimoh confirmed heavy police deployment across the state to maintain order and prevent disruptions.

“We are warning Sowore and his group to stay away from Lagos or face the full weight of the law,” he stated.
He underscored the bridge’s critical role as a daily artery for commuters, commerce, and emergency response, vowing zero tolerance for any blockade.

“The Third Mainland Bridge is too vital to Nigeria’s economy and the safety of lives and property to be tampered with,” Jimoh declared.
The message follows public outcry over demolitions that have displaced residents and fueled demands for transparency. Sowore has not responded to the commissioner’s remarks.
