Dignitaries from across the country on Friday converged on Ibadan, Oyo State, to witness the historic coronation of the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, Senator Rashidi Ladoja.
Among the prominent guests were the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, former Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun, top government officials, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and political figures.
The event drew massive crowds, with residents trooping out in large numbers to celebrate the ascension of the former Oyo State governor to the revered throne.
Security was visibly tight as the city buzzed with cultural displays, music, and prayers. Videos from the venue captured the grandeur of the occasion, with dignitaries and well-wishers paying homage to the new monarch.
The coronation marks a new chapter in Ibadan’s traditional history, as the ancient city embraces its 44th Olubadan amid pomp and ceremony.
