SUPER EAGLES TOUCH DOWN IN TURKEY FOR INTERNATIONAL FRIENDLIES

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have officially opened their training camp in Antalya, Turkey, as they begin preparations for upcoming international friendlies during the current FIFA window.

According to team officials, the coaching crew and backroom staff arrived in Istanbul on Monday and moved to Antalya on Tuesday, with players expected to join camp before the end of the day. Among the early arrivals were assistant coaches Fidelis Ilechukwu and Daniel Ogunmodede, working under head coach Eric Chelle.

Nigeria will compete in a four-nation invitational tournament, which was moved from Amman, Jordan, to Antalya due to security concerns in the Middle East.

The three-time African champions are scheduled to face Iran on Friday, March 27, before taking on Jordan on Tuesday, March 31.

Coach Chelle has named a 23-man squad for the matches, led by captain Wilfred Ndidi. The team also includes key players like Alex Iwobi and Ademola Lookman, alongside three new call-ups: Emmanuel Fernandez, Philip Otele, and Collins Yira Sor.

However, the squad will miss the services of Victor Osimhen, who is out injured, as well as Stanley Nwabali and Ola Aina.

The friendlies are expected to serve as key preparation for Nigeria ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
