#Suspected Arson: U.S. Governor Josh Shapiro, Family Evacuated from Residence During Fire

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro and his family were forced to evacuate the official governor’s residence in Harrisburg following a suspected arson attack that caused a fire during the early hours of Passover.

According to reports from the Associated Press (AP), the fire broke out overnight while the Shapiro family was observing the Jewish holiday. Authorities were alerted to the blaze and responded swiftly.

The Pennsylvania State Police said officers arrived promptly at the scene, safely evacuating the governor and his family. No injuries were reported, and the Harrisburg Bureau of Fire successfully extinguished the flames.

Officials have confirmed that the incident is being treated as suspected arson, though the investigation is still ongoing.

Speaking about the terrifying moment, Governor Shapiro—considered a potential Democratic presidential contender for 2028—recalled waking up around 2 a.m. to loud bangs on the door from state troopers alerting them to the fire.

“Thank God no one was injured and the fire was extinguished,” he stated.

The Pennsylvania State Police are leading the investigation and have offered a $10,000 reward for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the individual(s) responsible for the attack.
