The death toll from the recent attack on Tashan Maje, Saduro, and Runtuwa communities in Malale, Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State, has risen to 15.

Local sources confirmed on Sunday that two more victims succumbed to injuries sustained during the assault, adding to the fatalities from the initial attack. The incident occurred around 6 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2026, when suspected bandits stormed the communities.

During the first attack, one person was killed, and another was injured by gunfire and rushed to the hospital. Residents reported that the attackers fled the area shortly afterward.

Fear and tension remain high in the affected communities, with locals calling on security agencies to step up protection and restore peace. “No citizen should live in constant fear—security and swift action are urgently needed,” community members urged.
