Gunmen Abduct Five Siblings, Including Toddler, in Midnight Raid in Kaduna
Suspected terrorists have abducted five siblings, including a two-year-old girl, during a late-night attack in Kachia, Kaduna State.
The incident occurred around 11:45 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2026, when the gunmen reportedly stormed the family compound under the cover of darkness, breaching security and taking the children away.

A family member described the घटना as terrifying, saying, “Kidnappers entered our compound in Kachia and abducted five of my siblings, including two-year-old Irene. We are in shock and praying for their safe return.”
The identities of the other four victims have not yet been disclosed, but the involvement of a toddler has heightened concerns about the worsening insecurity in Southern Kaduna.

The abduction came just hours after another attack in the same area. On Sunday morning, gunmen reportedly targeted First ECWA Church and St. Augustine Catholic Church in the Ariko community, killing at least seven worshippers and abducting several others.
The back-to-back attacks have raised fears among residents, who say criminal groups now operate with little resistance across parts of Kachia Local Government Area. Many have complained about the limited presence of security forces and the slow response to emergencies.
As of the time of this report, the kidnappers have not contacted the family or made any ransom demand. Efforts to reach the Kaduna State Police spokesperson, DSP Mansir Hassan, for comment were unsuccessful.
The latest incident adds to growing concerns over safety in rural communities, where residents say they feel increasingly vulnerable to attacks.
