According to Headlinenews.news investigative reports, a source close to former President Obasanjo has revealed that the former President is trying to regain back his place in the Nigerian history. Obasanjo is said to be of the view that it is the turn of South (Southwest, South South & South East – Not IPOB) to produce Nigeria’s next President.
Headlinenews was made to understand that the Elder statesman and Former President who is an indigenes of the South West(Yoruba by ancestry and birth) a true traditionalist has not declared support for any Presidential Candidate from Southern Nigeria, but strongly believes Southern Nigeria ought to produce the next President in 2023.
For this reason, the Former President embarked on a selfless patriotic mission to sensitize other statesmen in order to ensure that the Presidency returns to the South for peace and unity in the country.
Many are of the opinion that the Elder statesmen should rise up to the challenge in this regard, utilising their wisdom, experience and capacity to ensure that the Southern Agenda is acceptable to Statesmen and Stakeholders Nationwide. It is solely for this reason that Obasanjo has been holding meetings locally in the South, North & even Overseas in order to pursue this agenda to success. The Yoruba’s have an expression that a baby backed by his mother cannot be wrongly backed if there is an Elder around.
Another Yoruba expression also stipulates that your own blood or Tribe cannot contest for something and you would give another Tribe or another person’s child/ blood, the item contested. These Yoruba proverbs are apt and a pointer to Obasanjo’s guide regarding his preferred candidate.
The Yoruba’s are known for their wisdom.
There are some facts that have emerged following the recent engagement with some presidential aspirants by Obasanjo.
