‘THIS HAS GOT ME WORRIED’: IRANIANS FEAR WHAT COMES NEXT AFTER US STRIKE ON KARAJ BRIDGE

US President Donald Trump has warned that Iran could face attacks on bridges and electric power facilities if its leaders fail to meet his demands to end the ongoing conflict.

The warning followed an incident in the city of Karaj, west of Tehran, where a bridge under construction was bombed, killing eight people and injuring nearly 100. The B1 suspension bridge had been crowded with picnickers celebrating the Nowruz holidays when it was hit twice by US aircraft.

Trump wrote on social media that the US military “hasn’t even started destroying what’s left in Iran” and urged the Iranian leadership to act quickly.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi rejected the threats, stating that attacking civilian structures would not force Iranians to surrender. He described the strike as a sign of the adversary’s failure and moral decline, while warning that such actions would damage America’s global reputation. Araghchi also challenged Trump’s earlier threat to bomb Iran “back to the stone ages,” asking if he intended to reverse decades of energy development in the region.

Communication within Iran remains difficult due to a 35-day internet blackout. Some Iranians have been able to connect using satellite internet systems like Starlink, although possession carries severe legal risks.

Those reached inside Iran expressed concern and fear over the escalating situation. A young woman in Tehran described feeling helpless and distressed over the attacks, while a man voiced worry about the long-term impact on the country’s infrastructure. Even local residents supportive of the US-Israeli campaign expressed surprise at the targeting of a civilian bridge.

Meanwhile, hardline, pro-establishment Iranians condemned the strikes on social media, calling for retaliation and warning that the attacks suggested an intent to destroy Iran rather than just its military assets.
