TINUBU ARRIVES IN TÜRKIYE ON STATE VISIT

ABUJA — President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Ankara, the capital of the Republic of Türkiye, on a state visit aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between both countries.

The presidential aircraft touched down at Ankara Esenboğa Airport at exactly 9:03 p.m. local time. President Tinubu was received by a Turkish government delegation led by the Minister of National Education, Yusuf Tekin.

Also present to welcome the President were Nigeria’s Chargé d’Affaires in Türkiye, Ambassador Zayyad Abdulsalam, alongside other officials of the Nigerian Embassy.

Upon arrival at his hotel, President Tinubu was received by members of the Nigerian delegation, including the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN); Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun; Minister of Solid Minerals, Dele Alake; and Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (retd).

Others at the reception included the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo; Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Suleiman-Ibrahim; Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Kingsley Udeh (SAN); Chairman of the House Committee on Defence, Babajimi Benson; Special Adviser to the President on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala; and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed.

The state visit is expected to further deepen the cordial relationship between Nigeria and Türkiye while opening new areas of cooperation for mutual benefit.

During the visit, President Tinubu is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with his Turkish counterpart, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The engagement will also feature the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between the two countries, alongside other official activities.
