Tinubu Congratulates Soludo on Re-Election, Hails His Leadership and Achievements

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Governor Chukwuma Soludo on his re-election as the Governor of Anambra State, describing the victory as a reflection of his visionary leadership and the remarkable progress recorded under his administration.

Soludo, who contested under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), secured a landslide victory in the November 8, 2025 governorship election, winning all 21 local government areas according to the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The win makes Soludo the third governor in Anambra’s history to serve two consecutive terms.

In a statement personally signed by him, President Tinubu praised Soludo’s intellectual approach to governance, saying:

> “Governor Soludo, the Solution, has shown that knowledge is power and that academic principles can be applied to serve the people with transparency, accountability, and prudence.”

Tinubu also recalled his visit to Anambra earlier in the year, where he inaugurated several projects initiated by Soludo’s administration, describing them as products of sound planning and innovation.

He further commended the governor for his discipline, brilliance, and fresh perspective, adding that under Soludo’s leadership, Anambra continues to live up to its title as “The Light of the Nation.”

The President urged Soludo to be magnanimous in victory and to work with his opponents for the progress of the state. He also assured him of the Federal Government’s support and cooperation.

Tinubu lauded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and its chairman, Joash Amupitan, for conducting what he called a credible election, while encouraging the commission to maintain high standards in future polls.

INEC’s Returning Officer, Prof. Omoregie Edoba, announced Soludo as the winner after the collation of results in Awka.

According to INEC, Soludo of APGA scored 422,664 votes, defeating Nicholas Ukachukwu of the APC, who garnered 99,445 votes. Paul Chukwuma of the YPP came third with 37,753 votes, while John Nwosu of the ADC scored 8,208 votes. George Moghalu of the Labour Party and Jude Ezenwafor of the PDP polled 10,576 and 1,401 votes respectively.
