TINUBU: FOUR ATTACK HELICOPTERS WILL ARRIVE SOON, COMMUNITY, STATE POLICE ‘REALITY’

President Bola Tinubu has confirmed that four attack helicopters ordered from the United States will arrive in Nigeria soon, as the country continues to confront rising insecurity and insurgency.

The announcement comes in the wake of joint military operations with the United States targeting militants in North-West Nigeria. The US had conducted airstrikes, which it said neutralised terrorists responsible for attacks on civilians, including Christians.

“Tonight, at my direction as Commander in Chief, the United States launched a powerful and deadly strike against ISIS Terrorist Scum in North-West Nigeria, who have been targeting and viciously killing, primarily, innocent Christians, at levels not seen for many years, and even centuries!” former US President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social.

The Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the strikes were part of structured security cooperation with international partners, aimed at tackling terrorism and violent extremism in the North-West.

Speaking to a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) led by Archbishop Daniel Okoh, Tinubu emphasized that community and state policing will soon be implemented, pending legislative approvals. He noted that military hardware is costly and difficult to replace, and that the government is also seeking assistance from Turkey.

“Community and State Police will be a reality once the National Assembly completes the required legislative inputs; military hardware is difficult to replace. It is expensive and not available off the shelf,” he said.

The President reassured Nigerians that the government remains committed to restoring peace and security despite ongoing challenges posed by bandits and insurgents.
