President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday held a private meeting with former Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The discussion, which took place on December 1, 2025, marks their first encounter since the President directed Musa’s compulsory retirement on October 24, 2025.

Although details of their conversation were not made public, the meeting comes at a time of escalating security crises across the North, including the abduction of schoolgirls in Kebbi, attacks on worshippers in Eruku, Kwara State, and the kidnapping of Catholic schoolchildren in Minna.
Security agencies have intensified counter-terrorism and anti-kidnapping operations across the North-West and North-Central regions as part of efforts to curb these incidents.

President Tinubu has also declared a nationwide security emergency and approved the recruitment of thousands of new personnel into both the military and police.
The Nigeria Police Force is preparing to enlist 20,000 additional officers, increasing its strength to about 50,000. NYSC camps are being converted into training facilities, while VIP security operatives are being reassigned to high-risk areas following rapid retraining.

Meanwhile, the DSS has been authorized to deploy trained forest guards and hire more personnel to help track criminal groups operating from forest hideouts. In his national broadcast, Tinubu assured Nigerians that “there will be no hiding place for agents of evil.”
