Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Matthew Hassan Kukah, in a keynote speech, described Abati as “a rare intellectual gift to Nigeria” and called for a moral reloading and renewal for national progress.

President Tinubu praised Abati’s contributions as a public intellectual, columnist, and broadcaster, and congratulated him on the launch of his books: Portraits: People, Politics and Society, A Love Letter and Other Stories, and How Goodluck Jonathan Became President. He wished him a long life, good health, and continued service to the nation.

Former President Obasanjo commended Abati’s career achievements and urged him to move from progress to lasting success, emphasizing ethical and moral values. Former President Jonathan highlighted Abati’s intellect and loyalty, noting that his storytelling offers a personal perspective on history and will serve as a reference for future generations.

Louis Odion described Abati’s three books as “a monumental intellectual legacy that captures Nigeria’s political evolution, moral challenges, and the author’s creative soul,” combining scholarship with storytelling.

Ayo Arowosegbe, Publisher of Caltop Publications, praised Abati’s discipline and consistency, calling the simultaneous publication of three books a rare achievement.

Dr. Abati expressed gratitude for life, friendship, and the opportunity to serve the nation through his work. He dedicated his books to his teachers, mentors, and President Jonathan, and acknowledged the support of his wife, Dr. Kikelomo Abati, who is also an author.

The event was attended by dignitaries from politics, media, business, and academia, reflecting Abati’s influence across Nigeria.

President Tinubu also congratulated His Royal Highness, Muhammed Haliru Dantoro Kitoro IV, Emir of Borgu, on his 10th anniversary on the throne, and Omoyemi Akerele, founder of Lagos Fashion Week, for winning the 2025 Earthshot Prize for sustainability in fashion.Headline news
