Tinubu Visits Lagos, Hails Oyedepo At 71, To Open Wole Soyinka Centre

President Bola Tinubu arrived in Lagos on Friday for a working visit as the country prepares to mark its 65th Independence Anniversary.

Tinubu’s spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, said the President came to Lagos after attending the coronation of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, in Oyo State.

During his stay, Tinubu will hold meetings with business leaders and top government officials. He is also expected to travel to Imo State on Tuesday, September 30, to commission projects executed by Governor Hope Uzodimma.

As part of the Independence activities, the President will commission the remodelled National Theatre, now renamed the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts.

Tinubu also congratulated Bishop David Oyedepo, founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, on his 71st birthday.

He described Oyedepo as a figure of influence whose ministry, educational institutions, and philanthropy have touched lives across Nigeria and beyond.

The President praised his discipline, vision, and commitment to human development through schools such as Faith Academy, Covenant University, and Landmark University.

Tinubu prayed for the cleric’s continued strength, wisdom, and long life in service to God and humanity.
