Tinubu Visits Survivors of Yelwata Massacre in Benue Hospital

President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday paid a visit to victims who survived last Friday’s deadly attack in Yelwata, a community in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.

According to DAILY POST, the President arrived at the Tactical Air Command of the Nigerian Air Force Base in Makurdi around 12:58 p.m. before proceeding directly to the hospital where the injured are receiving treatment.

Following the hospital visit, Tinubu headed to the new Banquet Hall at the Benue State Government House for a meeting with key stakeholders. The discussions are expected to address the growing security concerns following the wave of violent attacks that have resulted in significant loss of life.

In recognition of the President’s visit, the Benue State Government declared a public holiday.

The visit comes in the wake of a brutal assault on Yelwata, where more than 200 people were reportedly killed and many others injured.

Eyewitnesses said the attackers entered the town early in the morning, splitting into three coordinated groups to invade from different directions. Survivors described how the assailants opened fire in a staggered manner, creating confusion and overwhelming local security responses.
