#TODAY 18TH OF RAMADAN, 1446 AH (18 MARCH 2025)

http://j.mp/2b8SCfc

Qur’an Verse for the 18th Day of Ramadan:

“Those who spend [in the cause of Allah] during ease and hardship and who restrain anger and who pardon the people – and Allah loves the doers of good; and those who, when they commit an immorality or wrong themselves [by transgression], remember Allah and seek forgiveness for their sins – and who can forgive sins except Allah? And [they] do not persist in what they have done while they know.”
— Surah Aal-e-Imran (3:134-135)

May Allah grant us the ability to be generous, patient, and forgiving, and to always seek His mercy. Ameen.

Here are some recommended prayers (duas) for the 18th day of Ramadan:

1. General Supplication for the 18th Day of Ramadan

Transliteration:
Allahumma nabbihni fihi li-barakaati as-haarihi, wa nawwir qalbi bi-dhiyaai anwaarihi, wa khudh bi-yadi ilaa ma yurdiika, ya Mujiba da’wat al-mudtarreen.

Translation:
“O Allah, awaken me to the blessings of its early mornings, illuminate my heart with the brightness of its lights, and guide me towards what pleases You, O Responder to the prayers of the desperate.”

2. Dua for Forgiveness and Mercy

Transliteration:
Allahumma innaka ‘Afuwwun Karim, tuhibbul-‘afwa, fa’fu ‘anni.

Translation:
“O Allah, You are Most Forgiving, Most Generous. You love to forgive, so forgive me.”

3. Quranic Dua for Guidance and Strength

(Surah Aal-e-Imran 3:8)

Transliteration:
Rabbana la tuzigh quloobana ba‘da idh hadaytana wa hab lana min ladunka rahmatan, innaka Antal-Wahhab.

Translation:
“Our Lord, do not let our hearts deviate after You have guided us, and grant us mercy from Yourself. Indeed, You are the Bestower.”

4. Special Dua for Laylatul Qadr (as it may fall on an odd night)

Since the 18th night of Ramadan is close to the last ten nights, you can also say this:

اللهم بلغنا ليلة القدر، وارزقنا فيها الرحمة والمغفرة والعتق من النار.

Transliteration:
Allahumma ballighna Laylatul Qadr, warzuqna fiha ar-Rahmah, wal-Maghfirah, wal-Itq min an-Nar.

Translation:
“O Allah, allow us to reach Laylatul Qadr and grant us mercy, forgiveness, and freedom from the Fire.”

May Allah accept your prayers and grant you blessings in this holy month!

Here are a few hadiths that align with the themes of the 18th day of Ramadan—such as fasting, forgiveness, and the blessings of the holy month:

1. The Reward of Fasting

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:
“Whoever fasts during Ramadan with faith and seeking reward from Allah will have his past sins forgiven.”
(Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, 38; Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim, 760)

This hadith reminds us that fasting in Ramadan is not just about abstaining from food and drink, but also about sincere devotion and seeking forgiveness.

2. The Gates of Mercy Open in Ramadan

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“When Ramadan begins, the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hell are closed, and the devils are chained.”
(Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, 1899; Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim, 1079)

Since we are in the second half of Ramadan, this hadith encourages us to increase our good deeds, as the doors of Paradise remain open for those seeking Allah’s mercy.

3. Seeking Laylatul Qadr

The Prophet (ﷺ) said:
“Seek Laylatul Qadr in the last ten nights of Ramadan.”
(Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, 2017; Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim, 1169)

Although the 18th night is not an odd night, it still serves as a reminder that the most blessed nights of the month are approaching. Increasing worship, dua, and Quran recitation from now can help prepare for Laylatul Qadr.

4. The Best Dua for Forgiveness

Aisha (RA) asked the Prophet (ﷺ):
“O Messenger of Allah, if I find Laylatul Qadr, what should I say?”
He replied:
“Say: اللهم إنك عفو تحب العفو فاعف عني (Allahumma innaka ‘Afuwwun tuhibbul-‘afwa fa‘fu ‘anni).”
(Jami` at-Tirmidhi, 3513)

Even though Laylatul Qadr is in the last ten nights, this hadith reminds us to always seek Allah’s forgiveness, especially in the latter part of Ramadan.

5. The Importance of Generosity in Ramadan

Ibn Abbas (RA) reported:
“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was the most generous of people, and he was even more generous in Ramadan.”
(Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, 6)

This hadith encourages us to increase acts of kindness, charity, and helping others, especially as we approach the final stretch of Ramadan.

Conclusion

The 18th day of Ramadan is a great time to renew our sincerity in fasting, increase our acts of worship, and prepare for the last ten nights. These hadiths serve as motivation to seek Allah’s mercy, forgiveness, and blessings during this sacred month.

May Allah accept your fast and prayers! Ameen.

A beautiful Quranic verse that aligns with the 18th day of Ramadan is:

Surah Al-Mu’minun (23:1-2)

Transliteration:
Qad aflaha al-mu’minoon. Alladheena hum fee salaatihim khaashi’oon.

Translation:
“Certainly will the believers have succeeded: They who are humble in their prayers.”
(Quran 23:1-2)

Reflection:

As we enter the final stretch of Ramadan, this verse reminds us that true success lies in faith, humility, and devotion to prayer.

It encourages believers to focus on sincerity in their worship and develop a deep spiritual connection with Allah.

This verse is particularly relevant in the latter half of Ramadan, as we increase our prayers, especially during the night prayers (Taraweeh and Tahajjud).

May Allah grant us humility in our prayers and make us among the successful believers!
