O Allah, make this Jumu’ah a light for our hearts, clarity for our minds, a means of nearness to You, and a mercy that encompasses us in this life and the next.

Du‘a for Forgiveness and Purification

English:
O Allah, forgive us on this blessed day. Renew our faith. Cleanse our hearts of hypocrisy, our deeds of showing off, our tongues of lies, and our eyes of betrayal.

Du‘a for Protection in Times of Fitnah (Trials)

O Allah, protect us in this time of trials. Keep our hearts firm on Your religion. Make us among those who stand when others fall, who endure when others panic, and who hope in You when others despair.

Du‘a for the Nation and the Ummah

O Allah, rectify our nation and all Muslim lands. Guide our leaders to truth and justice. Make truth dearer to them than falsehood. Give victory to Your religion, Your word, and Your people in every place.

Special Du‘a for the Soul of Muhammadu Buhari (Rahimahullah)

English:
O Allah, forgive Your servant Muhammadu Buhari, elevate his rank among the righteous, and make his grave a garden from the gardens of Paradise. Cleanse him of his sins as a white cloth is cleansed of stains.

If he did good, increase him in reward. If he fell short, overlook his errors. Admit him into Jannatul Firdaus with the Prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous. Grant him honourable remembrance in this world and eternal light in the Hereafter.

Closing Du‘a for Acceptance and Blessings

English:

Date: Friday, 23rd Al-Muharram 1447 AH
Corresponding to: Friday, 26th July 2025 (subject to moon sighting)

As the sacred month of Muharram continues, we invite all faithful to observe the Jumu’ah prayers with reflection, unity, and renewed commitment to righteousness. The 23rd of Al-Muharram is a moment to reaffirm our moral compass, deepen our remembrance of Allah (SWT), and draw lessons from the early days of the Islamic calendar.

Recommended Intentions and Reflections:

Gratitude for the blessing of a new Hijri year

Supplication for peace, justice, and wise leadership in Nigeria

Reflection on the trials of the righteous and the reward of steadfastness

> “Indeed, those who have said, ‘Our Lord is Allah’ and then remained steadfast — the angels will descend upon them…”
— Surah Fussilat, 41:30

Let the Jumu’ah khutbah this Friday stir not just words, but actions that honour truth over hypocrisy, sincerity over spectacle, and faith over pretense.
Ameen.

*Oh Allah we give thanks to You and Glorify your name for the ability to witness another Friday. Oh Allah, may it not be our last. Ya Allah, strengthen our relationship with You and move us further away from the cursed one. Oh Allah, we seek Your guidance, forgiveness and blessings upon ourselves, our families and loved ones. Ya Allah let Your mercy be upon us now and always, Ameen.
