Media personality Toke Makinwa, who welcomed her first child, Yakira Eliana, in August 2025, recently held a dedication ceremony for her daughter at The Logic Church in Lekki, Lagos.
Makinwa, dressed in a white custom gown matching her daughter, arrived in a black Rolls-Royce and was accompanied to the altar by a large gathering of friends and family.
The celebration continued with a reception at the Landmark Event Centre, where Makinwa stunned in a pink Tubo-designed dress. She shared joyous moments on the dance floor, including an emotional dance with singer Tiwa Savage. She also danced with guests, including her close friend Farouk Umar.
Videos from the event sparked online discussion, with some speculating about Umar’s relationship to Makinwa’s daughter, while many praised his ongoing support.
During the reception, Makinwa expressed gratitude for her new role as a mother, describing her daughter as giving her a new identity. The event also doubled as an early birthday celebration, following her birthday on November 3, with guests singing a special birthday song in her honor.
