Troops of the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army, operating under Sector 3 of Operation Whirl Stroke, have intercepted a suspected gun runner and seized 969 rounds of ammunition in Taraba State.

The arrest took place on February 21, 2026, at Sarkin Kudu in Ibi Local Government Area, following credible intelligence received by the troops. During a stop-and-search operation, soldiers flagged down an Audi vehicle and discovered the suspect, identified as 48-year-old Monday Reuben from Numan Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

The suspect and the seized items are currently in custody and will be handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation and necessary action.

The Commander of 6 Brigade, Chukwuemeka Akaliro, praised the troops for their vigilance and professionalism, stressing the importance of sustaining the operation’s momentum to combat criminal activities and protect lives and property in Taraba State.
