Trump Warns Hamas of Retaliation if Gaza Killings Persist

US President Donald Trump has threatened to “go in and kill” Hamas if the group continues killing Palestinian civilians in Gaza, despite a US-backed 20-point ceasefire deal with Israel. In a Thursday post on Truth Social, Trump stated that ongoing executions by Hamas, which he previously downplayed as targeting “bad gangs,” violate the ceasefire terms, prompting potential US action. He clarified on Wednesday that the US military would not be involved.

Hamas has intensified its control over Gaza’s devastated cities since Israel’s partial troop withdrawal, executing alleged collaborators in public. Admiral Brad Cooper, the top US commander in the Middle East, demanded Hamas halt civilian shootings and comply with the ceasefire.

During a Monday visit to Israel and Egypt to mark the truce, Trump noted Hamas’s openness to addressing Gaza’s issues, granting them temporary approval. However, his latest remarks signal a shift in tone amid ongoing violence.
