U.S. AFRICA COMMAND EXECUTES STRIKE ON ISIS IN NIGERIA

Under orders from the President of the United States and the Secretary of War, and in coordination with Nigerian authorities, U.S. Africa Command carried out strikes against ISIS targets in Sokoto State, Nigeria, on December 25, 2025.

Preliminary assessments indicate that multiple ISIS fighters were killed during the operation.

“U.S. Africa Command is collaborating with Nigerian and regional partners to strengthen counterterrorism efforts against ongoing threats to innocent civilians,” said Gen. Dagvin Anderson, Commander of U.S. Africa Command.

“Our mission is to protect Americans and disrupt violent extremist organizations wherever they operate.”

The command will continue evaluating the operation’s outcomes and will release further information as appropriate. Detailed operational specifics will remain undisclosed to maintain security.
