Dr. Olufemi Olaleye, former Medical Director at Optimal Cancer Care Foundation in Lagos, has been remanded in custody in the United Kingdom following his arrest at Gatwick Airport on Thursday, November 27, 2025.
The doctor, who previously worked in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Darent Valley Hospital between 2005 and 2008, was taken into custody upon arrival from Nigeria over allegations of sexual offences that reportedly occurred during his medical practice in the UK.

Kent Police confirmed the arrest, stating that Olaleye, also known as Frank, Femi, or Francis, faces three counts of voyeurism under the Sexual Offences Act of 2003. Police Press Officer Charles Harman explained: “Kent Police was alerted about a man suspected of offences returning to the UK via Gatwick Airport. Officers attended the terminal, and he was arrested. Francis Olaleye, 57, from Plumstead Common Road, London, was charged with three counts of voyeurism. He denied all charges at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, November 29, and has been remanded in custody until December 5.”

The charges allege that between May 1, 2004, and July 31, 2007, in Dartford, Kent, Olaleye recorded private acts of individuals with the intent to obtain sexual gratification, without the victims’ consent. Voyeurism, according to the Oxford Advanced Learners Dictionary, involves deriving pleasure from secretly watching people undressed or engaging in sexual acts. In the UK, filming or photographing someone in private without consent is illegal.
Reports suggest that Olaleye secretly filmed sexual acts involving several women while in the UK. One victim was a married woman whose video was later seen by her husband, contributing to the breakdown of her marriage. These women are among the three witnesses listed by police.

Dr. Olaleye has denied all allegations. The court cited him as a flight risk with the potential to re-offend and ordered his continued remand. His next hearing to review the remand order is scheduled for January 2, 2026, while the main trial is set for January 21, 2026, at Maidstone Magistrates’ Court.
Olaleye’s arrest in the UK follows a high-profile legal battle in Lagos over sexual assault allegations. He was arraigned on November 30, 2022, at the Lagos State Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court on charges of defiling a child and sexual assault by penetration involving his wife’s niece, covering incidents between March 2020 and November 2021.

His estranged wife, Aderemi Olaleye, testified as the first prosecution witness, stating that the niece lived with them and confided that Olaleye had been sexually abusing her. She alleged that the abuse began with exposure to pornography and escalated to physical acts, sometimes using drugs to facilitate the assaults. The family driver reportedly witnessed one of the assaults.
Medical evidence from the Mirabel Centre confirmed bruises and injuries consistent with abuse. On October 24, 2023, Justice Rahman Oshodi convicted Olaleye on both counts, sentencing him to life imprisonment and describing him as a “dangerous offender” with no remorse. However, Olaleye appealed, and on November 29, 2024, the Lagos Division of the Court of Appeal overturned the conviction, discharging and acquitting him.
