The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has shared a subtle message following the confrontation between FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and some soldiers in Abuja.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, the DHQ wrote, “IT IS AN HONOUR TO SERVE IN THE NIGERIAN MILITARY. UNSHAKEN. UNBENT. UNBROKEN,” alongside a flyer bearing the same words.
The statement came after a viral video showed Wike in a heated exchange with soldiers guarding a disputed plot of land allegedly linked to former Naval Chief, Vice Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo (rtd).
Wike, angered by the soldiers’ resistance, accused them of intimidation, saying, “Shut up! Keep quiet! You are a fool… You send soldiers to intimidate who?”

The incident has drawn mixed reactions. Former Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai, urged Wike to apologise to the officer and President Bola Tinubu, while APC chieftain Joe Igbokwe called for disciplinary action against the soldier, describing his response as insubordination.
