VENEZUELA DEMANDS US PROVIDE ‘PROOF OF LIFE’ OF MADURO

Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodríguez on Saturday urged the United States to present “proof of life” of President Nicolás Maduro, following claims that he was captured by US forces.

Speaking during a telephone interview on Venezuelan television, Rodríguez said the government had no information on the whereabouts of Maduro or his wife, Cilia Flores, after a wave of US strikes targeted Caracas and other cities across the country.

She described the situation as alarming and insisted that confirmation of their safety must be provided immediately.

US President Donald Trump had earlier stated that Maduro and Flores were taken into custody by American forces and flown out of Venezuela.
