In a recent development, social media influencer Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has issued a formal apology to renowned human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, SAN, following offensive comments made by Otse regarding Falana’s alleged involvement in bribery accusations tied to cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
During his appearance before the Nigerian House of Representatives, VeryDarkMan expressed regret over the “offensive and derogatory bribery allegations” that had unfairly implicated Falana. He clarified that he did not believe Falana was involved in any corrupt practices and acknowledged the damage his comments may have caused.
Otse stated, “It’s unfortunate that Femi Falana’s name was mentioned in that audio. I couldn’t believe it myself. I apologize for any misunderstanding or offense caused, as I refuse to believe he had any involvement in such matters.”
This apology marks a critical step in addressing the controversy as VeryDarkMan moves to clear Falana’s name from the bribery accusations.
